For 24/7, I suggest three on 4x10's and two on 3x13's. You need at least an hour to hand stuff off. If it's 24/5, the three of you can do it just by covering 8a-5p, 4p-1a, midnight-9a, but you're all going to work 9 hours shifts. If you have 24/7 coverage, you need at least 5 people. You want the weekends off? You all work M-F, 8-5pm - View image here:. Note: I've never worked that kind of schedule (or other schedule where coverage was required) but this sounds reasonable. Result? get a 4 day weekend every 3 weeks. Week 3: Four 9-hour days and 3 bonus hours If you need a little less, it becomes even a little cleaner. If you all need 40 hours this is what I've come up with. Solution? Work a medium week, a long week, and then a medium week with a weekend. Downside: You end up going from the weekend straight into a long week. You've got 3 people, so naturally you want a 3 ish week schedule.įirst thought - work two longish weeks, and then a short week that includes a weekend. Point of these calculations? Not much, just trying to get a handle on it. 267 of the 45 hour week, or 12 hours left. That leaves the person who covers the weekend. If you assume the weekend (decide amongst yourself if the weekend is Friday-Sat or Sat-Sun) is covered by someone alone that works out to 2.267 people during the week. That works out to slightly less than 2 people at a time on average. That works out to 63 hours a week of coverage.
I think the Op is looking for a method to allocate the time among the staff on a rotating basis.
